Contemporary Residential Urban Project
Contemporary Residential Urban Project
The periphery, the result of the urban construction of the last 150 years, is an accumulation of urban elements and fabrics generated from independent logic. The residential project has occupied a central place in the periphery. In contrast, in the consolidated city, the residential fabric continues to be at the centre of debate due to various problems such as access to housing, spaces for daily life and local urban habitability.
Based on the analysis of representative fragments of European cities, the course aims to recognize the attributes of this place and answer questions such as: What is the identity of the contemporary urban project? What type of residential design has been implemented and which type can or should be implemented in this territory? How can the new residential programme reverse the current housing needs? What characteristics should the new design provide?
