First, is presented the conceptual basis of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), the principles, methods and innovative systems of architectural, urban and environmental assessment.
Geo-referenced urban information bases are explored, cartographies, descriptors of physical, geographical urban, and social parameters that impact on the rooms and urban conditions, housing, residential space, through informatics processes of GIS and ICT applied to urban study and built heritage.
Case studies of recent academic-based research (thesis) and technological application are studied in the line of innovative projects, as attractive references in the field of architecture and urban study.
The main concepts, components and functionalities of the technologies related to geometric modeling, creation of virtual models (3D), image processing and incorporation of resources are also developed and analyzed, as well as the study of practical cases to facilitate their full understanding. Likewise, the basic concepts and technological components of high precision devices such as the Terrestrial Laser Scanner (TLS), GIS geo-positioning and referencing systems and mass generation methods of three-dimensional models are presented.
